August 23, 2006: Important User News

Important News for All Computer Team Users

In our continuing efforts to provide better service to our customers, we are making some changes to our network that will make remote access to our servers (Citrix, Web and Mail) faster and more reliable.

We are switching our Internet connection from the current T1 connection to a fiber optic connection. Since we are changing our type of connection to the Internet, the IP addresses we use for our servers will change. This change will take place this coming Friday, August 25th after 6:00pm. Our servers will be unavailable during this transition. We hope to have all of our servers back up and available by 6:00am this coming Saturday, August 26th. We need to make this change as early in the weekend as possible to give appropriate time for these changes to propagate across the Internet. Hopefully, by Monday morning the changes will have taken effect across the Internet and everything will be running smoothly.

How does all of this affect you?

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. Please feel free to call us at any time if you have any questions or need assistance making the necessary configuration changes to your system. Please be sure to print a copy of these instructions in case you cannot access it after 6:00pm on Friday, August 25th.

Thank you,

Computer Team Staff

March 2006: PC Magazine “Ferrari vs. Hummer Notebooks”
"The Itronix Hummer Laptop IX600 ($3,368) came out poorly when compared to the Ferrari 4000 in the March 21 issue of PC Magazine. "The system is ideal if you're out in the field all day (think construction workers, architects, park rangers, field scientists, and so on), but for the average Joe who wants a cool car-theme laptop, the $2,000 Acer Ferrari 4000 is a much better deal.""

20 April 2005: Iowa State University Extension Selects Cougar Mountain
Computer Team, Inc. to Customize and Install Software

BOISE, ID -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/20/2005 -- When Iowa State University Extension decided to upgrade the accounting software for their offices in Iowa's 99 counties, they needed a product that was not just for accountants. Because many of the employees at extension offices are not CPAs, the software had to be easy to learn and use. The software also needed a great deal of flexibility, including the ability to account for multiple grants with different calendar years, and a centralized function to consolidate data from 100 outlying offices.

Laurie Gustafson, CPA, Director of Budget and Finance for Iowa State University Extension, and a financial team conducted an extensive search for the software, which ended with a demonstration that "proved the superior user-friendliness of Cougar Mountain Fund Accounting."

Gustafson was also impressed by the presentation from Computer Team, Inc., a Bettendorf, Iowa firm that specializes in custom designed and built computers and small business systems. Computer Team worked with Gustafson and the financial team to develop an architecture that allows regional offices to input data and meet their unique requirements while allowing central consolidation of information from the divergent extension service offices.
